Sarah's World
One cool thing about Sarah's novels is the world she creates in them. Many of her books allude to her other books. She created her own little world so she could make it her own. If her books talk about a beach town, you know it will be Colby her fictional seaside town. If you find yourself in Colby look out for the "Last Chance" which is the local burger shop. Defriese University is Sarah's fictional college where several of her characters go along the way. No matter what book of her's you are reading look out for similar characters because her characters like to make guest appearances in other novels. For example the key necklaces from Lock and Key have been seen on characters in other books, and Barbara Starr 's novels from This Lullaby have been seen in other books too. Perkins Day and Jackson high schools are pretty much exclusively the high schools a character will go to. Ume.com comes up in several books too as it is the Facebook or Twitter of Sarah's world. This little world Sarah has created makes her books even more captivating because it is like a scavenger hunt, or a trip into a familiar other world.
